Terms of use
These terms govern your use of the Sukanya Tracker app (the "app") and the website at sukanya.app (the "site"), both published by [PUBLISHER LEGAL NAME], India ("we", "us"). By installing the app or using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use them.
1. What Sukanya Tracker is — and is not
Sukanya Tracker is an independent record-keeping and calculation tool for the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. It computes, from the deposits you enter and the interest rates published by the Government of India, what an account is likely to be worth.
It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to India Post, the Department of Posts, any bank, the National Savings Institute, or the Government of India. It does not open, hold, access, or move any account or money. Your actual account exists only at your post office or bank.
2. No financial, tax or legal advice
Everything the app and site show — balances, projections, plan comparisons, articles — is general information computed from the published rules of the scheme. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and it does not take your personal circumstances into account. Decisions about how much and when to deposit are yours; if in doubt, consult a qualified adviser.
3. Figures are estimates; the passbook is final
Calculations depend on what you enter (dates and amounts), on the interest-rate table being current, and on our understanding of how the scheme's rules are applied. Any of these can differ from what your post office or bank actually does — rate changes not yet reflected, a deposit recorded on a different value date, rounding, or a rule applied differently. Your passbook and the statements of your post office or bank are the only authoritative record. We make no warranty that the app's figures will match them.
4. Your responsibilities
- Enter accurate information and keep it up to date; the app can only be as right as its inputs.
- Keep your device secure and your Apple or Google account protected; backups go to those accounts.
- Use the app only for its intended purpose and only in ways permitted by law.
- You must be an adult (18 or over) to use the app; it is intended for parents and guardians.
5. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, subject to these terms and to the App Store or Google Play terms under which you obtained it. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app, or remove any notices from it, except where the law expressly permits.
6. Intellectual property
The app, the site, their design, text, artwork and code are our property or used under licence. The name "Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana" belongs to the Government of India and is used only to describe the scheme the app tracks. Interest-rate data is public information published by the Government of India.
7. Third-party services
The app and site rely on services we do not control — Apple, Google, Cloudflare, GitHub, and (only if you opt in) PostHog. Their availability and terms are theirs. Our privacy policy explains what each of them sees.
8. Availability and changes
The app is provided free of charge. We may update, change or discontinue the app or the site, in whole or in part, at any time, including changing how calculations are performed to reflect changes to the scheme. We will try to give notice of material changes through release notes, but are not obliged to.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app and site are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage — including lost interest, penalties, missed deposits, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or the site, or from reliance on any figure or article they contain. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to ₹1,000 or the amount you paid for the app (nil), whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or for anything that cannot be limited by law.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these terms or misuse of the app or site.
12. App store terms
If you obtained the app from Apple's App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms with the right to enforce them. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support and is not responsible for any claim relating to the app. If you obtained it from Google Play, Google's terms of service also apply.
13. Termination
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may terminate or suspend your licence if you breach these terms. Sections 2, 3, 6, 9, 10, 11 and 14 survive termination.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [CITY], India have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live. Before starting any proceedings, please write to us — most problems can be sorted out by email.
15. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms; the date at the top shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
